RICHARD SEGALMAN: RECENT MONOtypes

SEPTEMBER 12 - DECEMBER 15, 2015

Hudson, NY – August 2015. Inky Editions is pleased to present its inaugural event ”Richard Segalman: Recent Monotypes”; an exhibition featuring over 30 monotype prints from the past 20 years by master painter, Richard Segalman.

Not surprisingly, a recurring theme in the monotypes by Coney Island-born Segalman, are beach scenes, sometimes populated by crowds and other times marked by a solitary figure. The exhibition also includes Segalman’s cityscapes and street scenes, which are imbued with sharply contrasting light reflecting the artist’s abiding fascination with a moody light suggestive of the film noir genre.

Richard Segalman’s paintings and monotypes are held in the collections of The Metropolitan Museum, NY, The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, The Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, DC. and The Fogg Museum, Cambridge, MA.
