Artists who want to work on larger prints, as well those who are more comfortable with smaller format, will benefit from this workshop with a master printer. Participants of a two-day intensive workshop will work on two 8"x10" plexi plates (or larger.) Using drypoint or collagraph techniques, participants will create their key image.  A photo or drawing can be placed under the plastic to be used as a guide. The second piece of plastic is then placed in register over the first and an acrylic with carborundum mixture is painted for atmospheric effect. The texture is ideal for creating rich tones when used on a plexiglass plate. The plates are then inked and printed over each other on an etching press.  Proper use of the press, registration, ink mixing, surface rolls, the use of the ghost image and handling 22x30 sheets of Arches Cover and Rives BFK will be presented.

Please mention your preference of the plexi plate size, and register by January 8. The lab fee will be charged accordingly.

Lab fee of $ 20 (paid to the teacher in class) covers supplies for 2 - 8" x 10" plexiglass plates and all materials including ink and one full sheet of 22x30 Arches Cover and Rives BFK. Extra paper and large plexi plates will be available for purchase.
