Saturday, September 24 (10am-1pm)

Outside Lines:  Architectural Objects and Cityscape

Find inspiration in your immediate surroundings and everyday travels via Drawing. Expand on your sketches to go deeper in other media.This workshop explores Observational Drawing & Spacial Concepts inspired by elements of the urban landscape:  Where is the Horizon?   Perspective: Where do your lines Converge or Disappear?  Layers: Foreground, Middle Ground, Background.  We will begin at Inky Editions drawing studio, explore architectural forms from the adjacent antique center and (weather permitting) the urban landscape of South Front Street.  All experience levels welcome.

                                            Materials you need:

- Bring your favorite sketchbook or start one: 5x7, 8x10 or thereabouts, ( easy to toss in your bag )

- 3 to 4 different BLACK permanent markers (Uniball Fine & Medium, Sharpie Fine Point )

Gina Palmer is an illustrator and educator residing in the Hudson Valley. A big fan of birds, she has worked in public education, at graphic design and commercial illustration. Serendipity, collaboration and interaction with nature are some of the ideas that inspire her work.
