Photographers and draughtsmen alike, are invited to work on their images using the solarplate process. By using the exposure unit at Inky Editions, students can expose their photographic transparencies or hand-drawn mylar to a light-sensitized plate - using a variety of marks made with india inks, sharpies and litho crayons.

In this non-toxic process, the exposed polymer plates, can be developed in a water bath without the use of chemicals, and printed on an etching press.

Bring two photographs printed on acetate (4"x5") on your inkjet printer (like a photocopy) and/or mylar for drawing, and create rich etchings.

For those who want an extra day to work on prints, there is an optional day (Friday, July 15, 10am-4pm) for an additional $120, payable in class. Please contact the studio for more information.
